La force vive de la société civile du groupement Baswagha Madiwe tire la sonnette d’alarme concernant l’état très délabré du pont Kisiviki, situé dans le territoire de Béni, province du Nord-Kivu. Selon nos sources, ce pont, situé sur l’axe routier Maboya Vikisi Malako, revêt une grande importance dans cette partie de la province du Nord-Kivu. De nombreux accidents ont été enregistrés à cause de l’état de ce pont. Récemment, un individu a été sauvé de justesse alors qu’il glissait sur ce pont, risquant de tomber dans l’eau, mercredi dernier.
Cette structure de la société civile demande aux propriétaires de gros camions et de poids lourds en provenance de Butembo de ne plus emprunter ce pont, car il ne peut plus supporter le poids de ces véhicules.
Justin Paluku Kavalami, le président de cette organisation, a déclaré :
« Hier, un homme qui partait de Mabalako pour Butembo avait déjà chargé ses bagages. Il a été rapidement sauvé, mais sinon, cela aurait pu tourner au drame. Ce n’est pas le premier incident ; ceux qui quittent Butembo pour Mabalako sont obligés de faire un détour par Butembo pour atteindre ici le dimanche ou le lundi, au lieu de passer par Visiki, où le risque est trop élevé en raison de la détérioration de ce pont. »
Il y a près de trois semaines, la Société Civile de Rwenzori avait également alerté sur le danger que représentait le pont Hululu pendant cette période pluvieuse.
